How to apply
Applications for 2018 are now closed.
The Treasury selection process consists of only a few steps:
Applications must be submitted through the Department’s online recruitment portal before applications close at 11.30pm AEST, Monday, 1 May 2017.
Your application must include your:
- resume and academic transcripts; and
- a brief statement (up to 750 words) in support of your application, which explains why you wish to work at Treasury and how your skills are suitable.
You will be sent an email confirmation once you lodge your online application.
Panel members assess applications during May/June each year. While not part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to meet with senior Treasury officers prior to their interview to gain insights into what a career at Treasury has to offer.
Interviews are held in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide each year. Telephone or Skype interviews, or other requirements for people with special needs can be arranged. Interviews are conducted in June/July each year.
Selection is based on your application, qualification(s), experience and performance at interview. An order of merit will be created.
5. Referee Checks
Referee checks are undertaken for candidates in strong contention following interview.
It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be sent a letter of offer for the Graduate Program in July each year. Subsequent offers may be made up until November.
