Growing through experience
I’ve been lucky enough to work across a broad field over the past 10 months. I got to help support small businesses, and work on a Budget (which is a daunting time for even the most seasoned professionals). I’ve also gotten to contribute to several other high-profile priority projects.
Making an impact
Honestly, the responsibility can be intimidating sometimes. I’m proud that I work in a place that gives out consistently solid, unbiased advice. This advice helps deliver some of the government’s biggest products. Even as a fresh grad, they trust you to get informed, and make key decisions.
Developing new skills
People in Treasury WILL ask you follow up questions about sources and analysis. So you learn to be smart when collecting and using data points. I’ve also honed broad skills like skimming documents, communicating directly and matching the tone of other people’s emails.
Making new connections
I’ve genuinely met some of my favourite people in the world through Treasury. The graduates are universally smart, funny, insightful, and really lovely.
